The berkshires
Dreamy Massachussets. Just 3 hours away from NYC
The Berkshires was named among the 200 Last Great Places by the Nature Conservancy . Also referred to as the Berkshire Hills, Berkshire Mountains, and Berkshire Plateau, the region enjoys a vibrant tourism industry based on music, arts, and recreation. Geologically, the mountains are a range of the Appalachian Mountains.
Few places in America combine culture and country living as deftly as the Berkshire hills, home to world-class music, dance and theater festivals – the likes of Tanglewood and Jacob's Pillow – as well as miles of hiking trails and acres of farmland.
Each building at Race Brook Lodge features dreamy architecture and rustic character. From wide, plank floors to exposed wood beams to quirky nooks, no two rooms are alike. Meandering footpaths connect the restored lodge, barns and cottages. Inspired by permaculture design and sustainable practices, each of our spaces offers an unique opportunity for the guests to connect intimately with themselves, others and the world around them.
Race Brook Lodge feels like coming home. When you're not enjoying the comfort of your room or exploring the outdoors, It has a variety of community spaces

How to get there
Driving:
Your GPS may give you a few options, but we believe the best way to come from New York City and other points to the South is to take I-684 to Brewster and continue North on NY Route 22 until Millerton NY,
then go East on 44 to Salisbury CT. Then North on Route 41 for 7 miles. Race Brook Lodge is about 3 miles north of the CT-MA border on the left.
By train:
Take Metro North to Wassaic: You need to make a transfer at Southeast, then Wassaic is the last stop on the Harlem Line.
Train leaves from Grand Central . There are trains every 2 hours
By Bus:
Peter Pan has busses to Sheffield from NYC twice per day, it takes longer and is more expensive than the train, but the stop is only 5 minutes away!
